BREAKING NEWS: Body of a man recovered from the River Nene in Northampton
Northamptonshire Police was called to a report of a body in the river between Towcester Road and Bridge Street, at about 9.20am yesterday (Monday) morning.
Enquiries by the Chronicle & Echo revealed that witnesses later saw several police cars, fire and rescue service vehicles and an ambulance called to a stretch of the Nene by the B&Q store in Nene Valley Retail Park.

Hide AdAt least two eyewitnesses reported seeing a black “private ambulance” at the scene as well with emergency vehicles remaining at the scene until the afternoon.
This afternoon police have revealed the body of a man was recovered from the river and has since been identified.
The force has yet to state the age or identity of the man.
His death is not believed to be suspicious and police are preparing a report for the coroner.
