BREAKING NEWS: Andrea Leadsom in second place in bid to lead Conservative party
South Northamptonshire MP Andrea Leadsom has come second in the first round of voting by Tory MPs in the Conservative leadership campaign.
Mrs Leadsom received 66 votes, coming second to Theresa May who secured 165 votes. Liam Fox was last with 16 votes, Stephen Crabb secured 34 votes and Michael Gove won 48 votes.
Mrs Leadsom had secured a number of high-profile backers included Boris Johnson and Iain Duncan-Smith.

Hide AdMr Fox now drops out of the contest, and more rounds of voting will take place on Thursday and Tuesday until only two contenders remain. Members of the Conservative Party will then make the final decision.
