Barn blaze in Northamptonshire sees four fire engines attend village in the middle of the night

Firefighters were scrambled to a village outside of Northampton in the early hours of this morning to put out a blaze in a large timber barn.

A total of four fire engines attended the scene on Grafton Road in Stoke Bruerne after a 999 call was received at 2am.

The contents of the barn and the timber structure were left “severely” damaged according to Northants Fire and Rescue.

Four firefighters tackled the blaze for two hours, using breathing backpacks and thermal imaging cameras to enter the barn.

The crew left the scene shortly after 4.30am. Fire officers are expected to return to assess the structure throughout today.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
