Close Encounters, in Abington Square, will donate all the proceeds from the sale of the 'Here's Negan' comic to the Spencer Bridge food bank.

Manager Jeff Chahal hopes the auction will at least match the amount the store last donated to the food bank earlier in the year.

"We raised £500 last time," said Jeff.

"I'd be surprised if we did not make it to £500.

"If it doesn't I will make up the difference out of my own pocket."

He added: "I like to try and support a local charity as opposed to a corporate one.

"I feel with the food bank you can see where the money goes."

The comic is from a very limited run of only 500 prints released earlier in the year in a £250 'blind box'. Buyers had no idea what they might get in their 'blind box', which were filled with random items varying in rarity.

Signed by both the writer (Robert Kirkman) and artist (Charlie Adlard) the comic is one of only 25 copies worldwide which have been authenticated by virtue of having had people witness them being autographed by the two men. It has been given a quality grading of 9.8 out 10.

'Here's Negan' is a stand-alone volume and tells the backstory of the Walking Dead character best known for antagonising the series' main character Rick Grimes.
