Air ambulance helicopter called to a crash near Desborough

An air ambulance helicopter was scrambled after a car crashed into a tree near Desborough this morning (Monday).
The driver veered off the road into a ditch before hitting the tree in Rushton at about 8.15am.

Hide AdPolice and a fire crew from Desborough raced to the scene on Station Road while the regional Air Ambulance chopper also responded.
The driver was freed from the seriously-damaged Ford Fiesta by firefighters before being taken to hospital by land ambulance.
The casualty is believed to have escaped with minor injuries, said Northamptonshire Police.
