An air ambulance has responded to a medical emergency in Northampton.

Flying medics landed on Far Cotton Recreational Ground at around 2.20pm today (August 26).

They responded to an emergency in The Briars that did not require police involvement.

The air ambulance left the scene again at around 2.45pm.

Earlier today, police were called to a road traffic incident at the junction of Towcester Road and St Peter's Way at around 12.20pm

A police spokeswoman confirmed that an ambulance was called as one of the drivers was elderly, but everyone is well now.
