5th Northampton Girls Brigade celebrating its 100th birthday in March

The 5th Northampton Girls' Brigade is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The centenary will be marked with a special service at Kingsthorpe Baptist Church on Sunday, March 13, which will be attended by the Northamptonshire District Team Leader and the Northamptonshire District President.

At 10am the girls brigade will parade up the High Street to Kingsthorpe Baptist Church and ‘old girls’ will also be taking part in the parade.

This will be followed by a service of celebration and thanksgiving at Kingsthorpe Baptist Church which will be lead by the Rev Nikki Jenkins and the Rev John Marriott.

From noon onwards there will be buffet lunch with a celebratory cake, and memorabilia from the last 100 years will be on display.

The 5th Northampton Girls Brigade has 60 members and is the biggest in the county.
