To support town centre businesses in the lead up to Christmas and throughout the festive season Northampton town centre Business Improvement District (BID) has launched an all new 'Shop Local Showcase'.

To date the new shop local showcase includes stories about a new online streaming service being promoted by Northampton Filmhouse, a new takeaway service from Vietnamese restaurant Oren Pho and St Giles Ale House, half price takeaways for teaching staff courtesy of Saffron restaurant, December events at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery and plans for a socially distance panto at The Deco Theatre.

During this second national lockdown the showcase also includes details about how businesses are adapting to the challenges of covid, those that are open, offering deliveries and signed up for the town centre’s new phone or click and collect service.

Mark Mullen, BID operations manager, said: “Earlier this year we relaunched the BID website to improve the navigation, user experience and overall feel and flow and to introduce new features, which include an online business directory.

"More recently we introduced a new area to our website, aptly named 'Rediscover Northampton', which focuses on everything from our town centre’s exceptional culture and heritage to our professional services, health and leisure, food and drink and retail offerings.

Our new shop local showcase is our latest addition to this website - a stream of stories from and about our incredible array of town centre businesses.”
