A car park in a busy Northampton supermarket will be partially out of use until next March due to improvement works.

Work is currently underway to replace the deck floor of the car park at Sainsbury’s in Weedon Road.

The upgrade programme will not be completed until spring next year, however the work will be paused during December to allow customers to use the whole car park during the Christmas shopping season.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: “The work underway at Sainsbury’s Weedon Road is part of a car park upgrade programme and involves replacing the deck floor.

“We’re currently half way through the works and will temporarily stop throughout December so customers can use the whole car park.

“We will recommence the works in January with the upgrade due to conclude in March.
