A contest to capture Northampton s community on camera has been launched to celebrate the "essence" of the town.

Community Spaces Northampton is asking for shutterbugs to use their imagination and snap a picture from one of the local areas below.

The images that best capture the spirit of their community will be in with a chance for their work to be printed and displayed in one of CSN's centres.

It could be of the natural environment, architecture and landmarks, activities taking place or the people in your neighbourhood (with their permission!).

The key local areas, which all have CSN community centre's include: Belllinge; Briar Hill; Kingsthorpe; Lodge Farm; Rectory Farm; Southfields; St Crispin's; Vernon Terrace.

There are several ways to take part. Share your submission on Facebook tagging @communityspacesnn and use the hashtag #captureyourcommunity, along with the area your photo was taken. Alternatively, send your photo directly to CSN via Facebook messenger, or email to [email protected].

All images submitted will be judged by the CSN team, with the input of local groups using each centre.

The photos which best capture the local neighbourhood and the’ essence’ of the community will then be printed and displayed in their local community centre. Participants will be invited to the first launch events once the centres are fully open again.

All submissions must be received by May 26, 2021.
