The Northampton Saints' mascot, Bernie, abseiled down the National Lift Tower to raise money for a local charity.

Bernie was joined by ten other fundraisers to tackle the 127 meter drop on Saturday, May 22. They raised a staggering total of £4915.45 for the Northampton Saints Foundation (NSF) after what has been a tremendously difficult year for the charity.

Fundraising, Events and Products Officer at the Northampton Saints Foundation, Gemma Shields, said: "On behalf of all at the Foundation, we would like to thank all the incredibly brave abseilers for taking on the challenge and fundraising for us.

"We are all incredibly grateful and the money they raised will make a difference to young people lives and allow us to continue our vital work supporting, inspiring and educating young vulnerable people in Northamptonshire."
