Plans for another 32 homes next to large Northampton development
Plans for another 32 homes on the outskirts of Northampton have been submitted to the council for approval.
The development falls within the large Overstone Leys urban extension, near Moulton, however the homes were not part of the outline plan as the site was originally marked up as green space.

Access to the site will branch off from a proposed road in the neighbouring development.
The application is for outline permission only, so exact details of the homes and landscaping are yet to be determined. An indicative plan of how the area could be developed shows the 32 homes on either side of the single street, with a pond and amenity area at the corner of the site.
Designs also show all houses will have driveways on the front of their property, as well as private gardens to the rear. Planning statements say that the appearance of the homes will attempt to mirror those that are currently being built in the Overstone Leys urban extension.
Documents also state that the development will provide a mix of tenures, including affordable housing. The precise details of the amount of each housing type would be determined at the reserved matters stage.

Planning documents wrote: “The site is immediately available and deliverable in the short term and therefore will make a positive contribution of up to 32no. dwellings to address the 5-year housing land supply shortfall.
“The development of the application site will also make most efficient use of land which is in a highly sustainable location, in an existing residential area.”
West Northamptonshire Council is set to make a decision on the plans on February 15.
