A scheme designed to help essential workers in Northampton looking to move home this year has been proven a success, with eligible homebuyers having saved tens of thousands of pounds.

The scheme from Mulberry Homes is designed to make moving more affordable, and was extended to include all frontline workers currently faced with the extra stress and increased workload as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

A part of the extended incentive is £1,000 worth of pre-purchased vouchers to spend on local businesses, with this offer finishing on September 30. This can be utilised by quoting the code SUPPORT.

The luxury homebuilder is offering a financial contribution of £500 for every £20,000 spent, capped at £600,000.

Subject to lending criteria, this could be put towards a choice of upgrades, flooring or professional fees, and is available to staff from schools, hospitals, doctor’s surgeries, emergency services, local authority workers and armed forces personnel.

Essential workers include those working in health and social care, education and childcare, public services, local and national government, food and other necessary goods, public safety and national security, transport, utilities and communications and financial services as defined on the gov.uk website.

Kerry Jones, sales director at Mulberry Homes, said: “Mulberry Homes aims to put the community at the heart of everything it does and we take pride in being able to support public sector personnel who are vital to the infrastructure of a community.

“We’re thrilled to be supporting essential workers through our bespoke scheme. The £1,000 worth of vouchers offer is only available for customers who evidence their employment with reservations made before September 30, so we encourage all those who are interested to act quickly.

“As part of Mulberry Homes’ Distinctly Local campaign, we have been purchasing vouchers and collaborating with local businesses throughout the whole year, and we’re delighted to be further supporting them and our community now, especially in these difficult times.”

The scheme is available at Meadow View Fields in Moulton.
