A popular car boot spot in Northampton will be given over to a pop-up outdoor beer garden 'every weekend' starting this Friday.

Work has begun to raise a temporary tented bar as the centrepiece of the 'Duston Mill Beer Garden' that will debut in Sixfields on April 16.

Organisers say they hope to open the 'garden' every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from April 16 to May 17 with street food catering.

Organiser Marc Sawer, owner of a couple of town centre businesses including Northampton's The Church Restaurant, said: "We hope to have a big outdoor area where people can sit and relax while still following restrictions.

"I want it to be a relaxed atmosphere with a bit of background music and if we're lucky a bit of sunshine so people can enjoy themselves now the lockdown is easing."

The weekly event will reportedly offer free parking and free entry.
