So many fondly-remembered Northampton pubs have shut their doors over the years but are still in the memories of their customers.
These photos - researched by Dave Knibb, the Northampton author of 'Last Orders: A History and Directory of Northampton Pubs' - show some of Northampton's old stomping grounds.

5. The Live and Let Live in Bristol Street
Dave said: "The Live And Let Live had a strange history, partly a pub, mostly a bakery and eventually a grocers. It was opened in 1870 as a bakery by William Saunders who must have either tired of the business or had opened another place as he was offering it for let by 1872, 1874 and 1876, he certainly got through a few bakers. I haven’t got a closing date for the Live And Let Live, it could have been later in the 1920s, it could have been the 1930s. I don’t think it could have lasted for too long though without appearing in a directory or newspaper, so maybe it just reverted to a bakers again." Photo: Dave Knibb
