So many fondly-remembered Northampton pubs have shut their doors over the years but are still in the memories of their customers.
These photos - researched by Dave Knibb, the Northampton author of 'Last Orders: A History and Directory of Northampton Pubs' - show some of the Northampton's old stomping grounds.
Do you remember stopping for a drink in any of them?

9. The Horse and Groom in Swan Street
Dave said: "The Horse & Groom first popped up in a directory in 1845 and stood opposite the end of Angel Lane so was visible from both Guildhall Road and Bridge Street. It was a decent sized place with stabling facilities. Whether a traveller's curse had ever been put on the place is unknown, but over the years at least four landlords died while in charge there, including John Parker whose family ran it for decades. The pub managed to clock up over 100 years before closing in 1958."

10. Northampton Arms in Deal Street
Dave said: "The Northampton Arms was yet another pub that sprang up from the building of streets between Barrack Road and Bailiff Street. Opening in 1862, it was one of the more successful ones with all manner of groups and societies meeting there. The size of its trade also reflected the size of its out of hours drinking though, whereas other pubs were fined for having a handful of people inside, the Northampton Arms tended to have ‘lock in’s’ involving thirty plus people. Show offs. The pub had closed by the early 1960’s though and within a few years the building had gone forever for redevelopment, the scourge of so many pubs before."
