A family-run hotel and country house is now retaking bookings for diners and those planning a special getaway.

Highgate House reopened on Thursday, July 9 with the added addition of an all-day menu and two hotel rooms with hot tubs.

The Terrace Restaurant begins service from 7.30am for breakfast, and serves brunch, specials and main meals throughout the the day - including eggs Florentine and sirloin steak.

Afternoon Tea is also served in the Chudley Room, next to the Terrace Restaurant, from 2pm to 5pm.

After throwing open their doors again, the 97-bedroom hotel, is working at restricted access to adhere to social distancing measures.

For diners wanting to eat outside, they can choose to sit on the lawns and for those opting for a more intimate dining experience they can choose to book a private dining room with a tailored menu by head chef Lee Gaskins.

Bookings are now being taken for the hotel - which includes two new hot tub rooms and dog-friendly stays.
