Saffron general manager and lifelong Cobblers fan, Rana Rahman, said: “Monday promises to be a special day for Northampton and we wanted to show our support for the Cobblers by getting right behind them and creating a curry for the occasion.

“Keith Curle has done a fantastic job since arriving at Sixfields and we’re right behind him and the boys.

“It’s devastating for fans not to be allowed to go to what could be one of the club’s biggest ever games but we want them to cheer on their team from their sofa while tucking into some great food.”

Throughout lockdown, Saffron has offered NHS and emergency staff 50 percent off all collection orders and they have now extended the offer to also include Cobblers season ticket holders until the restaurant reopens on Saturday, July 4.

Rana added: “We have made a point of honouring our local heroes during the Covid-19 pandemic so it’s only fair we do something now to mark the achievements of our football club as well.

“We can’t wait to welcome our customers back to the restaurant and hopefully we will be celebrating promotion with them all.”

Saffron has undergone a major refit during the enforced closure and has implemented a range of social distancing measures to ensure diners can enjoy a meal in a safe environment when the doors reopen next weekend.
