Northampton named as third most expensive place in the UK for takeaway pizza
New research has found that Northampton is third most expensive town or city in the UK for takeaway pizza.
Conducted by Buzz Bingo, the data looked at the 50 most populated areas in the UK and used Just Eat to find out the prices of a standard 12 inch Margherita pizza.
The average price was calculated by looking at the top 10 results on Just Eat for each area, filtering for five-star restaurants only.
Coming in at a whopping average of £14.62, Northampton ranks third behind nearby Milton Keynes in second place. Slough took top spot at £15.01.

Surprisingly, London came in at fourth with an average of £14.44, meaning Northampton is on average more expensive for takeaway pizza than the capital.
The cheapest was Bolton at £7.84 – nearly half the price of the average in Northampton.
Mark Fletcher, head of brand at Buzz Bingo said: “Pizza is one of the UK’s most loved comfort foods, but prices can vary widely depending on where you are.
"With such big price differences across different regions (and even postcodes), it helps to know where you’re most likely to get the best value,” he added.
