A new chicken wing takeaway has opened this month (March) in the middle of Wellingborough Road - and its owners have described the initial support as "incredible".

Owners and friends Jabran and Kasim were given the opportunity to open Wing Spot when the previous takeaway closed, so the pair quickly got to work after deciding to go into the new venture together.

The young entrepreneurs said they have worked tirelessly to bring something new and exciting to the market and did not want to be stopped by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The pair said: “We were nervous to open during such tough times but so far the response has been so positive, it’s been great.

“To have people queuing up outside is something we only dreamed of and not only that but hearing such amazing customer feedback has made all the hard work of getting this business up and running so worthwhile.

“The support of other businesses on the Wellingborough Road has been brilliant, so thank you to everyone who has wished us well. We also need to thank our team and everyone behind the scenes who have worked on bringing our ideas to life.

“We’ve got plans to develop in the future but for now we’re taking each step as it comes and our main focus is making sure our food is the best it can be”

Wing Spot has a small but impressive menu with 12 options of chicken wing flavours including sticky BBQ, sweet chili, katsu and lemon pepper to name a few. All wings can be original, boneless or flame grilled.

There is also a fantastic selection of sides including mac 'n' cheese bites, nachos and dynamite prawns. And the business also stocks cheesecakes from local firm The Bakeplug, with other desserts available too.

The range of dishes are all made fresh on the premises with the freshest, quality ingredients. And there are plans to make orders available online and for delivery soon. Orders can be made in store until then.

The store is open from 1pm to 11pm every day except for Tuesdays when it is closed all day.

Head to Wing Spot's Facebook or Instagram to see the full menu.
