So we put the question to our readers: where is the best place for a carvery in Northamptonshire? I’ll be honest, I did not think it would cause as much controversy as it did in the comments section but, alas, it goes to show how passionately we all feel about our Sunday roasts.

20 The Square, Dunchurch, Rugby, CV22 6NU. The Huntsman, which is a 15 minute drive from Daventry, came highly recommended by our readers. It is rated 4.5 stars out of five on Trip Advisor. One reviewer said: "If you like your flavours, this is the one for you! Brilliant settings for a three course hearty carvery. Complimented by a fancy pudding. Main Street, Rockingham, LE16 8TG. The Sondes Arms is rated four out of five stars on Trip Advisor. A recent review said: "The carvery was incredible value, and was cooked fabulously. Superb selection of perfectly cooked meat, and a great selection of vegetables. 3 mains, 3 deserts & 6 drinks, all for £70.40. Amazing service from the all of the staff. Excellent food. Someone who visited the venue this week, said: "For a start the food is hot so by the time the plate is almost empty it is still warm to eat. The meat tasted really nice and tasty.
