But with so many choices, making a decision can be difficult.
So the cleanliness and the food hygiene rating of each establishment could help you make up your mind.
Food hygiene ratings are issued to eateries after the local authority, Northampton Borough Council, has sent an authorised officer to visit the premises.
Inspectors rate each place based on three categories in which the establishment can be marked ‘good’, ‘improvement necessary’ or ‘major improvement necessary’, which will then equate to an overall mark between zero and five, with five being the best.
The three categories that officers look at are management of food safety, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and hygienic food handling.
To achieve a five-star rating businesses have to fare well in all three categories.
