Explore the county one pint at a time...
With the Easter bank holiday around the corner, many of us will be looking for something fun to do with our family and friends.
And although there is some rain forecast, there are also a couple of days that are expected to be dry, so they could be the perfect time to head out for a countryside walk. And what better way to enjoy a country walk than to incorporate it with a pint or two – it is bank holiday weekend after all.
Luckily, Northamptonshire offers both gorgeous countryside to explore and some fantastic food and drink, so here are a few of our favourite pub walks in the county.

5. Stanwick Circular
Yet another route packed with history, here you’ll set off from the 18th century Duke of Wellington pub, and pass a Victorian shoe factory where the Duke himself had his boots made, and the beautiful Grade II listed Stanwick Hall. This route is 3.1 miles long and will take about an hour to complete. Photo: Duke of Wellington
This route is one for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town, with some beautiful countryside views and a chance to explore a nature reserve and an old railway line, which closed in 1956 but remains partially standing to this day. The Royal Oak pub is your start and finish for this one - a historic building that is currently owned by local farmers. At 5.1 miles, it’ll take you just over two hours to complete. This 4.1 mile route starts and ends at the beautiful Red Lion in Hellidon, and should take around an hour and a half to complete. Sheep and cows can be seen at times along the trails, so be sure to keep any dogs on a lead. Photo: Submitted
