The tutors at The Cube Disability have launched a new service for children under the age of 16.

Named The Cube Disability Kids, the service will consist of dance, PE, fitness and social aspects for children with special educational needs (SEN), as well as their siblings.

Emily Chapman, who has worked for The Cube Disability as a dance tutor for the past two years and is now director of The Cube Disability Kids, said: “I am so excited to be launching this service to benefit the SEN community in Northamptonshire.

“We are the first care provider in the county to offer a dedicated dance school for SEN children and their siblings and we’ve already had a great response.

“I’m excited to watch this service grow and continue delivering it from our centre once it reopens.”

The organisation, which is under new management, celebrates its 21st anniversary this year.

Manager, Jonny Horsley, added: “We have some exciting plans in the pipeline to take the organisation to new heights, including the expansion of our evening and weekend Cube Extra service and Cube Adventures holiday provision, alongside Cube Kids.

“Our team has adapted well throughout the last year, despite everything, and we are successfully running a comprehensive online service for all of our clients during lockdown.

“This is something that we are hoping to continue providing once our centres are back up and running and we are excited to see what the future holds for the organisation as we enter a new chapter.”

The kids sessions currently take place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons between 1pm and 2pm, and Saturday mornings between 10am and 11am.

The organisation also hosts a club night via Zoom every Friday evening from 6pm which is open to anyone of any age from Northamptonshire’s SEN community.
