A Northamptonshire village has started a ‘Covid snake’ made out of rocks decorated by local people.
The snake, which started just under two weeks ago on May 21, is located on the grass verge in Courteenhall Road in Blisworth and has already grown to 176 stones.

Kim Wykes, who is the mastermind behind the snake, said: “My friend in Bicester started one and I thought we would do one too and see how huge we could make it.
“We started it with ten rocks to make sure it had a head and then it has just grown from there. It’s really long now.
“We put a message with the snake that says: Please add a rock, do not touch or take, keep safe and rock on.

As the snake has grown and villagers have added their own rocks, there have been more and more messages added to the decorations.
Many people have used the stones as a creative way to say thank you to the NHS and the Royal Mail, as well as to spread ‘be kind’ and 'keep safe' messages.
Kim also said there is even a Star Wars rock that has made its way into the snake.

“But the older people are really loving it too when they see it everyday as they walk their dogs.
“It’s just nice to see people smile when they go by. It cheers people up a bit and it’s great to see.”
Kim is hoping the snake continues to grow and would encourage anyone else to add their creations.
