The eventual relaxation of restrictions and increase in Covid vaccination uptake meant that more events could go ahead up and down the country this year and Northampton was no exception to this.
With the town's businesses opening back up came the iconic return of the Northampton Town Festival, the County Beer Festival, Pride and so much more. Many of these events were highly anticipated this year as they had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Let's take a look back at some of the happiest times Northampton residents shared together in 2021:

17. The Winter Light Trail
Delapre Abbey put on the ultimate festive display over the Christmas period, which people can still visit until January 2 2022. Visitors can see the grounds come to life with enchanting displays, special effects, tunnels of light, soundscapes and larger than life illuminations.

18. The Silverstone Lap of Lights 2021
Visitors had the opportunity to drive the iconic 3.2 mile Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit in darkness as they experienced a spectacular light and laser show following Santa's journey around the world. People could also continue the festive fun by visiting the winter themed Lodge or skating on an illuminated ice rink.
