Launched in March last year, Corona Kitchen offers free hot meals to homeless people and those who have been impacted by the ongoing public health crisis. The project is run by volunteers and was set up in response to the majority of soup kitchens in the town centre closing.

Based in Kettering, the organisation provides over 90 meals per day four times per week using a combination of donations from supermarkets, Kettering Food Bank and grant awards from several charities.

Corona Kitchen has received a number of grants from Northamptonshire Community Foundation to support their vital work in the local community and the project aims to continue until soup kitchens can re-open.

Frank Rodgers, of Corona Kitchen, said: “We provide a hot meal most days of the week to rough sleepers, homeless people and those in need living in Kettering.”
