Non-essential shops, pubs and leisure facilities may have been closed for the last month, but maternity wards and hospitals certainly have not.
Midwives and hospital staff have continued to work hard, much like they did during the first national lockdown, to make sure babies are welcomed into the world safely.
As the second national lockdown, which was in place from November 5 to today (December 2), draws to a close, Chronicle & Echo asked parents to share pictures of their new additions they have welcomed during the month-long shut down.
Many new parents responded to the social media call out with names, weights and even birth times for their babies, as they proudly present some of the many positive things to come out of the lockdown.
Some parents were also keen to share birth stories and to thank staff at Northampton General Hospital, where many of the babies were born.
Here are 14 of the babies born in Northampton during the second lockdown.
