Families to benefit from expanded support as new Best Start hub planned in West Northamptonshire
Families across West Northamptonshire are set to benefit from new and improved Best Start Family Hubs following further investment from the council.
A spokesperson for West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) said: “The hubs bring together support for families with children from pregnancy through to age 19 – or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities – making it easier to access advice, health services, and early help in local communities, closer to home.”
In Daventry, plans are moving forward to create a new town centre Best Start Family Hub, with the council currently in the planning and design phase, the spokesperson said. Building work is expected to begin in around six months’ time, following procurement and detailed design decisions. The full construction timetable will be confirmed once contractors have been appointed.
The proposed new hub would be located in two available units at Mulberry Place, offering a more central and accessible location for families, the spokesperson added. The existing Daventry Family Hub on Staverton Road will continue to operate and provide services as usual until the new Hub is open.

“The update is part of the council’s wider Best Start in Life programme, which focuses on supporting children, young people and families at the earliest possible stage, improving access to services and helping communities thrive. More information on the Best Start in Life Plan and family hub developments in other areas will be shared as plans continue to be developed,” the spokesperson said.
