With the Easter holidays fast approaching, it is time to start planning some fun Easter activities for all the family.
Spring is now in full swing so it is time to get out and about and enjoy the beautiful historic houses and gardens around Northamptonshire, fuss some baby animals and - most importantly - eat your weight in chocolate.
Join in the Egg-citement at Rockingham Castle as the castle and gardens open this Easter Bank Holiday from noon to 4pm. Collect your leaflet and start exploring the gardens’ Kings & Queens Easter Trail. Don’t forget, once you’ve completed your booklet, you can collect your Easter Egg! Billy the Bunny will be around, make sure you say hello! Delicious refreshments will be served on site, with stunning views across the Welland Valley, perfect for picnics. The castle will be open throughout the day to explore too. All tickets must be pre-booked in advance. Children £3-£8. Adults £9. Family £33 (event and grounds only).
Enjoy a fun Easter themed trail through the gardens and parkland with storytelling sessions, visits from the Easter Bunny, chocolate prizes, and delicious treats from the Old Kitchen tearoom. Easter trail Included in Garden Entry, from £6.
7. Easter Adventures in Nature, Lyveden New Bield (April 15-18)
Make your way along the trail and find nature inspired activities for the whole family this Easter weekend in Lyveden’s fabulous moated garden. Easter trail runs from Friday 15 - Monday 18 April, from 10am with last entry at 4pm, and costs £3 per trail. Includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end. Photo: National Trust Images
8. Giant Easter Egg hunt, Chester House Estate (April 2-18)
Explore the Chester House Estate and search for the large hidden eggs. Collect the numbers on your map and collect a special chocolate prize at the end. On arrival please visit the Visitor Centre in the main farmyard to redeem your booking code and collect your Easter Passport. All activities (Giant Egg Hunt and Cade Bottle Feeding) take place between 10am and 4pm each day. Easter Passports £8.00 per person. Book in advance online.
