Silverstone puts families on starting grid in UK-first laser-light Christmas attraction

Silverstone has Christmas all wrapped up this year with the launch of a brand-new, Covid-safe Christmas extravaganza that allows families to set off from starting grid

The home of the British Grand Prix has introduced an entirely new concept to the UK with their all new laser-light Christmas show.

Lap Land, which officially launches to the public today, allows families to take a leisurely tour of the Silverstone track as they have never seen it before, in the safety of their own car.

During the 40 minute experience, visitors can expect to complete a lap of the world-famous track, albeit in a slower time than Lewis Hamilton.

As darkness sets in, the laser and light show comes to life illuminating the circuit and a Lap Land radio station provides a musical backdrop before visitors take the chequered flag on track and can continue to the drive-in cinema to watch The Snowman.

The attraction runs until January 3, and will only be closed on Christmas Day, with booking slots available from 4.30pm – 8.30pm, Sunday to Thursday and 4.30pm – 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday, prices start at £35 per car.

Multiple screens showing The Snowman will be available to book each night for an additional £15 per car.
