Floats, performers and incredible outfits should be hitting the streets of Northampton today and the whole town should be getting into the carnival spirit.
But as the coronavirus pandemic has halted those plans, the 2020 carnival has been moved online.
Although arts and crafts and a video parade will mean the virtual event is just as good as the real thing.In the meantime, to reignite some nostalgic memories, Northampton Chronicle & Echo decided to have a look into the archives to find pictures to relive the decades of colourful and exciting carnivals we've been lucky enough to see in the town.
With black and white photos dating back to the early 1900s, there's suits of armour, giants and a carnival queen.
And as colour creeps into the pictures, so does a nod to the World Cup and several seriously impressive costumes.
