16 photos of the day Northampton was covered in a beautiful blanket of snow...10 years ago

Northampton was covered in snow during an earlier-than-usual blizzard which swept across the country 10 years ago this month.

The town experienced a few centimetres of snowfall on November 30, 2010, but northern areas of the county were more affected with three schools closed.

That winter saw the UK's earliest widespread snowfall since 1993 with snow falling as early as November 24 across northeast England, according to the Met Office.
