Looking back in the Chron archives 15 years ago, the front page of the Chron on Friday, November 25, featured the story of 120 jobs going at a call centre in Northampton town centre.

The kitchen firm which was based in Sol House broke the news to staff earlier in the week. Many of the workers were casual staff, some of whom spoke to the newspaper.

Elsewhere, the Oxfam charity shop in Kingsthorpe revealed some of the rare donations they had been given - including a first edition Jeeves omnibus by PG Wodehouse worth £200 and a Paddington Bear teddy worth £70.

On the back page, Ben Cohen revealed his disappointment at missing out on an England spot...but his delight at returning to Franklin's Gardens. Director of Rugby, Budge Pountney, said Cohen had been one of the in-form players of the season and was "a great voice out there and good talisman for us".
