A group of primary school children learnt the Last Post and played it for the whole school so they could all pay their respects on Remembrance Day.

The children, who are all in Year 6 at Duston Eldean Primary School and a part of the school orchestra, have been learning the traditional tune on their instruments for the last few weeks.

Sammy Redding, who is the music lead at the school, said: “Due to Covid, we have not been able to do anything together as a school, so this helped bring us together as a community.

“We’re really proud of them.

“It was the first chance they’ve had this year to perform in front of an audience.

“There was a big atmosphere, especially with this tune and it gave me goose bumps.”
