A Tommy silhoutte, spitfire and a red poppy were cleverly displayed above Winwick Hall, near West Haddon, late on Saturday night, to mark Remembrance Sunday.

The display, which could be seen for miles, marked the day alongside slimmed down ceremonies at war memorials, cenotaphs and churches throughout the country, as well as abroad

The poignant light show was the work of Drone Swarm who created the impressive display to remember the fallen, as coronavirus restrictions have limited the number of people allowed to gather together for traditional services.

Mat Lawrence said: "The display was created to remember those who have done so much for us.

"It is a technique called light painting where a drone moves around the blank canvas of a dark sky whilst a camera shutter is open recording."

The drone is controlled very precisely using computer technology and it follows a design throughout the display which has been illustrated on a computer using animation software.

It's a similar technique to the huge virtual firework displays recently shown in the USA after Joe Biden was named as president elect.

The show late on Saturday night over Winwick Hall showed a Tommy silhouette, Second World War spitfire plane and a red poppy hovering over six crosses above the reflective waters, tittled 'Lest We Forget'.

Mat Lawrence was also the brains behind the stunning NHS display, which was projected onto Northampton National Lift Tower in April.

The projection turned blue from 8pm to 11pm on April 23 as part of the Clap for Carers national NHS campaign.
