Successful nutritionist prepares to launch accessible podcast to support women through menopause
A successful nutritionist is preparing to launch an accessible podcast to support women before, during and after menopause across Northamptonshire and beyond.
Registered nutritionist Lucy Jones launched her clinic Lutrition in August 2021, specialising in supporting women at perimenopause and menopause to lose unwanted fat without restriction.
Lucy is launching her podcast ‘Weight, There’s More at Menopause’ next Tuesday (August 25) with the aim of reaching even more women who are in need of weight management support at this stage of life – but are perhaps struggling to access one-to-one support.
Each podcast episode will feature a guest expert, including a menopause specialist doctor, a fitness coach, a stylist and another registered nutritionist, just to name a few.

They will cover topics that actually matter to women struggling with weight at midlife, including hormone changes, HRT, weight loss medications and jabs, emotional eating, stress and more.
The core message is that fat loss at menopause is complex but not impossible, and Lucy spoke to the Chronicle & Echo to share her journey of running a clinic at 26 years old.
Lucy launched Lutrition half-a-decade ago when she was working for a menopause organisation, knowing she wanted to work for herself and specialise in the subject area. She was particularly interested in utilising nutrition and lifestyle choices to support others.
It was straight out of university when Lucy began working with the menopause organisation after she completed work experience with them. Alongside building Harley Street experience and having worked alongside a dietitian, it was in February 2023 when Lucy took her venture full-time.

The nutritionist offers one-to-one support to help women going through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause to shift stubborn and unwanted weight and fit into their clothes.
“More people are talking about menopause now than ever before,” said Lucy. “When people first start thinking about losing weight, they jump on social media and see big, bold claims and transformations.”
It is these damaging claims from people who are not qualified or do not know the subject area enough that Lucy was trying to combat through the launch of Lutrition and her evidence-based and safe information.
Lucy provides both online and in-person support, often with clients in Northampton, Towcester, Brackley, Milton Keynes and further afield across the country for those who opt for convenient online sessions. She also hosts a clinic on the first Monday of the month at The Well Retreat on Brackley’s high street.
Lucy often gets asked why she is working in the menopause space at 26 years old, and it is because these important conversations are becoming more accessible to women of a younger age so they know what is coming later in life.
The nutritionist advocates for younger people in the industry to ensure her generation is better prepared when the time comes, as opposed to generations of women who never knew anything about menopause.
Clients praise Lucy’s simple approach, meaning they do not have to overhaul their lifestyle or start afresh as it is done in a manageable way habit by habit.
The first session begins with realistic goal setting and Lucy works through the layers of a pyramid, addressing any barriers clients face along the way. They may tackle portion sizes, food quality, snacking or emotional eating, for example.
“I’m down to earth and realistic,” said Lucy. “I’m not here to change your lifestyle or diet massively. I want to keep it as similar as possible and think about the smallest things we can do with compassion.
“By the time you’re in your forties, fifties and sixties, women may have been dieting for 20 plus years and I help them to learn to love food again.”
Talking about the launch of her podcast ‘Weight, There’s More at Menopause’ next week, Lucy shared that now was the perfect time to introduce this as her one-to-one slots are consistently fully booked – and she appreciates not everyone has the means to access private support.
The podcast is the perfect way for Lucy to make trustworthy information more accessible, as weight loss in menopause will be discussed holistically and not with a focus on diet and movement only.
The first two episodes will be released next Tuesday (August 25) on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with a further eight weekly episodes then released until the end of the first series on October 20.
“I want to reassure women at menopause that they can lose weight and it is possible to work with a changing body,” said Lucy. “I want the podcast to reach as many women as possible at different stages.”
