Northampton Saints have been selling facemasks in the club's colours and with the crest on the front - and have already sold out for adults.

Black, green and gold masks are being sold by the rugby club to raise money for the NHS and Northampton Saints Foundation.

The CE-certified barrier masks are made of two-ply interlock polyester and are machine washable at 60 degrees, making them fully reusable.

After going on sale for preorders yesterday (Wednesday, May 13), the £7 adult masks are now out of stock with only child masks available for £6.

Head of retail, Will Peasgood, said: “First and foremost, it’s really important to understand that these masks do not provide medical-grade protection, and so we are not taking any supplies away from front-line key workers.

“But we were also aware that the demand from members of the public for personal protective equipment is getting larger by the day.

“We saw a fantastic opportunity to raise some money for our NHS heroes and Northampton Saints Foundation, as well as giving our supporters the chance to continue to wear our colours with pride despite the unique situation we all find ourselves in.

“This is an extremely challenging time for all charities; Saints Foundation’s ability to fundraise has been drastically reduced, but they continue to work with some of Northamptonshire’s most at-risk students.

"The additional emotional, practical and financial pressures on them and their families at the moment mean they need our support more than ever.”
