John Fletcher, Managing Director of Trilogy, said: "Following the latest Government announcement of a second lockdown, we will be closing all of our centres at end of business today, Wednesday November 4, 2020 and reopening on Wednesday December 2, 2020.

"As a not for profit charitable trust we are heartbroken at having to close our centres for a second time.

"It means we will have to stop the delivery of all of our physical activity programmes across the Northampton communities we serve once again.

"Leisure centres and gyms are essential for the physical and mental wellbeing of a large part of the population of Northampton.

"The data collected by our governing body UK Active and shared with the government shows Covid cases in gyms are very low.

"Therefore we will continue to campaign to keep fitness facilities open and ask for the help of local people who can sign the petition.

"Staying fit and active is the best way to build a strong immune system and stay healthy.

"We will continue with our online workouts in our members Facebook group and weekend workouts will continue to be available to everyone via our public Facebook page."
