Fertility clinic in Northampton among first providing new testing to reduce miscarriage risk
A Northampton-based fertility clinic is among the first to provide assessments to help reduce miscarriage risk.
Care Fertility, which has a clinic on The Avenue, is the first provider in the UK to offer Preli endometrial assessment, a diagnostic test which provides insights into the womb lining.
Dr Tom Bamford, innovation lead at Care Fertility, says the testing could help support treatments to improve the chance of pregnancy and guide decision making.
He said: "Preli provides our clinicians with valuable new information about the uterine environment, enabling us to build a more complete picture when treating patients with complex fertility histories.

"We’re committed to introducing innovations that are grounded in robust scientific evidence and have the potential to support better-informed clinical decisions.
“By becoming the first fertility provider to offer Preli, we’re driving forward our focus on delivering personalised fertility care based on the latest advances in reproductive science."
The testing uses a sample of the uterus lining to looks at the process where the womb prepares for pregnancy, and whether the process may contribute to issues like recurrent miscarriage or fertility problems.
Preli is being rolled out across Care Fertility’s London, Birmingham, Manchester and Northampton clinics, before being made available across other fertility clinics.
