Deer trapped inside warehouse in Northampton industrial estate rescued by RSPCA

A deer that was trapped inside a Northampton warehouse has been rescued by an RSPCA officer.
The charity’s animal rescuer was called to a warehouse in Liliput Road in Brackmills Business Park on April 20, where the deer was trapped inside.

Hide AdThe wild animal was stressed, so was sedated by the officer in order to remove it from the environment.
After waking up from the sedation the male deer was released back into the wild.
A spokeswoman for the RSPCA said: “An officer was called to rescue a deer which had got trapped inside a warehouse in Liliput Road, Northampton.
“Deer get stressed very easily and this deer was stressed in the warehouse so he was sedated and safely removed.

Hide Ad“After waking up from his sedation the deer was returned back to the wild so it was a nice happy ending.”
Including rescuing the deer and dealing with two burnt alive hedgehogs in Daventry, the RSPCA has been called to 385 incidents in Northamptonshire since the lockdown began.Dermot Murphy, Chief Inspectorate Officer, added: “Despite the lockdown, there are still thousands of animals which need our help.
“As designated key workers, our frontline rescuers are still out and about rescuing animals in urgent need of care.
“The coronavirus crisis hasn't put a stop to animal suffering and these figures show there are still many animals out there that need rescuing.”
