A spokeswoman for the academy, said: “The health and safety of our pupils, staff and wider school community is our highest priority.

"Following a pupil testing positive for Covid-19, we have worked closely with Public Health England and the Health Protection Team to take immediate action and implement the necessary precautions.

“Through our robust health and safety measures, we have been able to identify the affected year group bubble, who are now self-isolating for 14 days as a precautionary measure, in line with the latest Government advice.

"During this time, the affected pupils will continue their education through our remote learning provision.

“Because of our stringent health and safety measures, the academy remains open and safe for all other pupils and staff.

"We also continue to encourage our wider school community to follow all hygiene and social distancing measures to help prevent the spread of the virus.

“We will continue to keep pupils, parents and staff updated and encourage anyone with concerns to contact the academy directly so that we can provide the necessary support.”
