Wellingborough secondary school confirms Covid-19 case

A Wellingborough secondary school has confirmed a single case of coronavirus but all year groups remain open, with a small number of students self-isolating as a precaution.
Sir Christopher Hatton Academy emailed parents and carers this morning (Monday, September 14) to say a Covid-19 case had been confirmed within the school.

Hide AdIn a statement, the school's co-principals Nick Salisbury and Alastair Mitchell said: "We can confirm a single case of Covid-19 has occurred in our academy.
"We are liaising closely with Public Health England and following the guidance they are providing. We aim to keep our academy as fully open as possible as long as it remains safe to do so for students and staff.
"We can confirm that no year group has had to be fully closed although we have a small number of students who are currently self-isolating as a precautionary measure."
Sir Christopher Hatton Academy is the latest educational setting to be affected by coronavirus this month.

Hide AdThe Northants Telegraph now knows of seven schools and colleges in North Northamptonshire that have declared cases.
They are Tresham College in Kettering, Montsaye Academy in Rothwell, Hazel Leys and Studfall Academies in Corby, Grange Primary Academy in Kettering, Oundle CE Primary School and Sir Christopher Hatton Academy.
