Parents have been sent out a warning letter from a South Northamptonshire school confirming saying the two siblings who are students at the school's south site have tested positive for Covid-19.

The school says a "small number" of students at the Elizabeth Woodville School, in Deanshanger, have been sent home to self-isolate for 14 days after coming into contact with the two affected students in year seven and year ten.

A notice from head teacher Sharan Matharu, posted on the school website, said: "We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

"The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individuals who have tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days.

"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well and are free of symptoms. As a school we have taken all the necessary steps to minimise the spread of coronavirus and we are continuing to take advice and guidance from Public Health England."
