An opticians in Northampton remains open to provide eye care for doctors, nurses and other NHS workers.

Specsavers in Abington Street has suspended all routine tests for the foreseeable future, but is still open to supply key workers with new glasses at short notice, if their's are broken.

The opticians is also able to help with other patients who need urgent eye care to help ease the strain on the NHS.

“We’re here to help key workers continue to do their vital work, and we’re available on the phone for eye care advice.”

Specsavers teams are classed as key workers to provide urgent and essential eye care to those who need it, which includes supporting other key workers who cannot function without their help.

Key workers who are able to walk in and seek immediate advice, if they need it.

Alongside this, other customers can phone the store for advice and to be assessed on the level of care that they might need.

Glasses and contact lenses can also be purchased online for customers with a current prescription.
