Staff at Northampton General Hospital's critical care unit have published a heartwarming video on a patient walking out after 71 days battling Covid-19.

The video, which has been shared on the team's Twitter account, shows staff clapping and cheering as the patient walks past.

It was clearly an emotional moment, the post says: "Not a dry eye in critical care today as this inspirational patient walked out after a 71-day admission to critical care (consented to share) #COVID19 #NHS".

The critical care unit has 16 beds at NGH and staff have been working around the clock treating patients during the crisis.
