Another Northampton school has told parents and staff it has been notified of a positive Covid-19 test.

A letter to parents and staff from Vernon Terrace Primary's acting headteacher, Mrs Joanne Marlow, says: "We have been made aware of a member of our school community who have tested positive for Covid-19."

The letter, which has been seen by the Chronicle & Echo, goes on: "We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

"The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for an isolation period.

"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend unless you have received a previous communication requesting your child isolates."

Vernon Terrace Primary, which is close to Billing Road, has approximately 250 students. The school declined to comment when approached by the Chronicle & Echo.
