A Northampton business is turning its hand to live streaming weddings to help couples and families who may still be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic later this year.
Alpha Live, based in Whilton Mill, usually live streams motor sporting events so already has the necessary equipment to broadcast a couple’s big day.

Darren said: “It’s quite close to home. We’ve been planning our wedding for the best part of a year.
“So I just wanted to see if we could offer our services to any couples who need it really and help them out.
“We’ve been really lucky with our venue, they have been able to reschedule us.

Although he appreciates very few weddings will be going ahead at the moment, Darren does think there will be a need for the live streaming service when the lockdown is lifted, but maybe not all family members will feel comfortable in a large group environment.
According to Darren, some people have tried to stream weddings themselves so that loved ones do not miss out, but he says those who do can encounter issues.
He added: “If they get to somewhere and they don’t have WiFi, it can be difficult to stream it through Skype or something similar.
“We cover motor sports, so we’re very mobile and can cover large spaces.”
