New report shows how many people have died after positive Covid-19 test where you live in Northampton

Figures published by Office For National Statistics compare Covid-19 related deaths to deaths from all causes

A total of 230 people who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in Northampton in two months, according to new Government figures.

Overall, the number of deaths in Northampton, related and unrelated to Covid-19, was 699 during the same period. This means that Covid-19 related deaths accounted for 33 percent of the total number.

The figures were released today by the Office For National Statistics and cover the period from March 1 to May 31.

The rate of patients dying after testing positive with Covid-19 slowed in June and there has been a drop in the number of new cases, although Northamptonshire is running at a higher rate than other areas of the country.

The report includes a full breakdown of each district in Northampton and is listed below. The first figure is the number of deaths related to Covid-19 and the figure in brackets is deaths from all causes.
