A long queue of cars were seen waiting to get their last McDonald's takeaway in Northampton before the fast food restaurant closed over the coronavirus outbreak.

Around 50 cars were spotted in the car park at the Kettering Road establishment at around 6pm with the closure meant to be happening at 7pm.

Ellena Anastasiades, who tweeted photos of the cars, said: "Me and my brother went to Morrisons and saw the queue of cars at the drive thru.

"It went all the way round the petrol station and on the Kettering Road.

"They were supposed to close at 7pm but don't know if they did."
